Panasonic Jaguar Racing Begin Season Six Development Testing Ahead Of Swiss E-Prix
• Panasonic Jaguar Racing have begun their season six (2019-2020) development testing – having completed successful UK tests and significant mileage ahead of the Julius Baer Swiss E-Prix
• Round 11 of ABB FIA Formula E championship returns to Switzerland at a new location in the Swiss capital, Bern
18 June 2019, Whitley, UK
Mitch Evans, #20:
'It's always exciting to race on a new circuit but this makes the time with my engineers at the track before Saturday vital. I secured my first Formula E pole in Switzerland last year so I am aiming for another Super Pole run in Bern. We've been practising a lot in the sim, so I'm looking forward to getting out on track. I've had good pace in practice at the last few races, now I want to convert that pace back to podium finishes. With three races to go, I'm pushing to secure as many points as I can for the team.'
Alex Lynn, #3:
'Having a bit of extra time between races has been a great opportunity to spend more time with my engineers and in the sim. Berlin was mixed emotions for me – I qualified for Super Pole for the first time with the team, but a technical issue forced me to retire prematurely from the race. I'll be looking to capitalise on that initial pace for the Swiss E-Prix and get back in the points for Panasonic Jaguar Racing.'
James Barclay, Team Director, Panasonic Jaguar Racing:
'In parallel, we are pleased with the progress made ahead of season six with the commencement of our development testing programme. We recently started track tests in the UK for next season's car and powertrain and things are progressing well. Next season, with new teams joining, ABB FIA Formula E is going to be the most competitive season yet.'
ABOUT PANASONIC JAGUAR RACING
Jaguar returned to racing in October 2016, becoming the first premium manufacturer to join the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship street racing series.
Jaguar's Formula E programme will create tangible R&D benefits for the electrification of future Jaguar and Land Rover road cars and is designed around the team's founding principle, 'Race to Innovate'.
Manufacturers can design their own powertrain, which includes the motor, transmission, inverter and rear suspension. Common components across all teams to control costs include the carbon fibre chassis and battery. The focus is on developing electric vehicle powertrains.
ABB Formula E unveiled earlier this year the Generation 2 racecars. Teams will now have one racecar per driver, and no longer be required to make the mandatory car swap.
Beyond its all-electric concept, Formula E is unique in the world of motorsport for its choice of venues. The championship takes place on temporary street circuits in the centre of the world's major cities including Riyadh, Hong Kong, Sanya, Monaco, Rome, Paris and ending in a double-header weekend in New York.

• The 2019 Swiss E-Prix takes place on Saturday 22 June 2019
'We have repeatedly proven the pace of the Jaguar I-TYPE 3 – in Berlin that was in Free Practice for Mitch and in qualifying for Alex. Unfortunately, we didn't get the result we wanted. For the last three races, we'll be looking to convert that pace into points. We will be pushing for a double-points finish at every remaining race – and that starts in Bern.
