PSA Foundation And The French Red Cross Renew Their Partnership

Rueil-Malmaison, 7 June 2019

•Since 2012, the PSA Foundation has funded 33 social support schemes designed to end exclusion for the most vulnerable people throughout France

•The PSA Foundation has supported the programme designed to build the network and train 98 volunteers in order to give them all the assistance they need to help implement the schemes

•The new partnership is intended to continue action already taken by creating assistance schemes in regions not yet covered

'The PSA Foundation is immensely proud of this partnership and particularly the work done by French Red Cross volunteers to help the most vulnerable people, promote their inclusion and maintain their social ties. They are always full of new ideas about how to adapt the scheme to the problems facing each region or person. We recently inaugurated a new Mobility scheme in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, with a Parents and Children Area dedicated to young parents,' said Karine Hillaireau, Managing Director of the PSA Foundation.

Jean-Christophe Combe, Director-General of the French Red Cross, said: 'As the number of people in situations of crisis, poverty and exclusion grows, the French Red Cross has a duty and a responsibility to adapt with courage and agility so as to continue responding to calls from all vulnerable people. Breaking the isolation and promoting the social inclusion of the people furthest away from support schemes is more than ever central to the Mobilities programme we have been carrying out since 2012 thanks to the help of the PSA Foundation, which is the founding partner. We are very proud to be renewing the partnership for a further two years.'

The PSA Foundation has made mobility the central focus of its work. For this reason, through this partnership, it supports not only the 'French Red Cross on Wheels' initiative, which includes social transport vehicles, but also the development of schemes to help volunteers extend their work into more remote areas. More than 300 volunteers took part in the Mobility Day events. They are the key to the success of these schemes.
