Jimny – Urban Car Winner At The 2019 World Car Awards
Suzuki Motor Corporation is very pleased to announce that the Jimny has won the Urban Car category in the 2019 World Car Awards announced today at the New York International Motor Show.
This is a company that produces some of the finest small cars on the market, and can really celebrate its global Urban Car success in winning a trophy at the New York show'.
Following top three shortlist successes for Ignis in 2017 and Swift in 2018 in the World Urban Car Category; Jimny made it through the first and second round of votes and was in the top three for World Urban Car again and World Car Design too. This time around, 40 new models entered the World Car Awards programme.
The new Jimny was first launched in the Japanese domestic market in the Summer of 2018, unveiled for Europe at the Paris Motor Show last Autumn and went on sale in the UK in January of this year.
Jimny offers the latest in safety technology as standard with Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) Lane Departure Warning, and Weaving Alert. Air conditioning, Auto Headlights with High Beam Assist, front foglamps and Bluetooth connectivity are also fitted as standard equipment.

Mike Rutherford, World Car Awards Programme Juror, Executive Director and Co-Chairman comments 'Suzuki had again seen off many rival manufacturers from all corners of the globe to become a 2019 World Car finalist and now it's an outright WCOTY category winner with its all-new Jimny.
Jimny is powered by a 101PS 1.5-litre petrol engine and is fitted with ALLGRIP PRO selectable four wheel drive with low transfer gear as standard equipment.
